 In this tale, Barker the drog doesn’t listen to his parents and gets lost in the forest. He’s eventually found, but he is haunted by thoughts of “monsters in his head.” He’s so afraid that he can’t get to sleep. Kidd teaches him that thoughts and feelings come and go, and Barker finally is able to sleep peacefully. Children will relate to mischievous Barker getting lost and scared, and they will be reassured to know that thoughts and feeling don’t last forever—they come and go.
